The race towards eradication of FGM in Kenya has gained momentum. Men End FGM has been playing an active role in contributing to the Presidential commitment of ending FGM by 2022 through various activities both online and offline.
The year 2021 presented to us with good opportunities as well as a number of challenges, including but not limited to the ever changing COVID-19 variants that forced government and its development partners to focus on curbing its spread in order to save lives. Despite these challenges, we were able to engage communities through various advocacy initiatives at the village, county and national levels, all geared towards ensuring that no other girl becomes an FGM statistic.
It is our hope that this report will inspire you to continue investing in the campaign to end FGM, child marriage and all forms of violence against women and girls as we near the global timeline to achieve gender equality (SDG 5) of 2030.
